FAQs

TRAVEL

Travel is charged at 50p per mile.

Yes, we do offer a select number of destination weddings. Please contact us for further details.

I am available to travel within a 2-hour radius of my location. For travel exceeding this distance, overnight accommodation will be required the night before the event, which will need to be provided at your expense.

Timings

The time needed will depend on the number of people requiring makeup and the timing of your ceremony. If necessary, I may bring in an assistant to ensure everything runs smoothly. After your trial I will send you a schedule for your morning so that you know the plan ahead of the day.

You will come to my studio in Stourbridge for the trial day, and I will travel to your venue on the wedding day.

No problem! Just let us know as soon as you have the details. We may need to adjust the schedule, possibly starting at my studio or another location before moving to the venue. A £25 surcharge will apply for each change of venue.

Makeup typically takes around one hour per person.

PRODUCTS

We aim to use vegan and cruelty-free products for sustainability, but we cannot guarantee that all products meet these criteria due to the variety of brands used, especially those shipped internationally.

We make every effort to accommodate sensitive skin and recommend having a trial ahead of the wedding day, especially if you or your bridal party have sensitivities but cannot guarantee there will be zero reaction. While we strive to minimise reactions, we can offer patch tests upon request for specific products.

We use a combination of luxury and high street brands. You can view a full list of our brands used on our website.

PAYMENTS

The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. It secures your booking.

No, all payments are non-refundable.

Your final balance is due 14 days before your wedding date with your full name as reference to the bank details provided to you for the deposit. We recommend not paying early to help us track payments efficiently.

To secure your booking, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of receiving your quote. You will receive a confirmation email once the deposit is received.

GENERAL INFORMATION

We only take on one wedding per day to ensure the highest level of attention and quality.

You can reach us by email at bridal@flynnes.co.uk for any queries.

Yes, I trained with Charlotte Tilbury and hold a recognised makeup qualification.

We don’t offer partial services, as we believe the full makeup look is the best representation of our work.

Our booking window is limited to 18 months to accommodate potential changes in circumstances as much as possible.

Yes, we work with a diverse range of skin tones and have extensive experience in makeup for various ethnicities, ages, and face shapes.

Our studio does not have a disabled access, but if needed, we can discuss travelling to your location for the trial day.

While we don’t offer bespoke packages, you can add extra people for a fee.

Yes, we can accommodate changes to your bridal party, subject to availability and additional charges.

We work on Sundays and bank holidays without additional charges. However, there is a small surcharge for weddings between December 27th-31st. We do not work on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day.

We can start as early as needed. If we need to leave our studio before 5am, a small surcharge will apply.

We are happy to accommodate venue changes, provided we are informed in advance. A £25 surcharge applies for each venue change.

I can stay as long as you want but I am able to stay right up until you’re ready to go in your dress and I offer makeup top ups to you and your bridal party in case of any tears or smudges.

TRIALS

Trials are compulsory. They allow you to try out different looks and ensure you’re happy with the makeup ahead of your wedding day. It’s also a great opportunity for us to meet.

A trial typically lasts up to 2 hours.

We recommend scheduling your trial 3 months prior to your wedding day.

You’re welcome to bring one or two people for support. However, if you have more than two guests, please let us know in advance. While children and babies are welcome, please note that the trial lasts 2 hours, which can be challenging for young ones.

Trials are held at my studio in Stourbridge, which is located on the top floor, up two flights of stairs.

No, trials can only be booked once your wedding date is confirmed and a deposit is paid. We receive a high volume of enquiries, and availability cannot be guaranteed without securing the booking.

Make sure to hydrate and prep your skin. If you plan to have a tan, please do so before your trial so we can see the full effect, as skin tone can influence the makeup.

If you’re not happy with your trial, we can schedule another one for an additional £80. We want you to be 100% satisfied, and open communication is key.

We do not offer evening trials, and weekend availability is limited. Please contact us in advance if you wish to book a weekend trial.

Wear something comfortable, preferably a white or light-coloured top similar to your wedding outfit. Avoid tight-necked clothing to allow us to match your makeup to your chest and shoulders.

If you need to reschedule, please let us know as early as possible. We understand that things can change and will do our best to accommodate.

I typically reach out to brides about 3 months before their wedding to arrange the trial. If you haven’t heard from me by then, feel free to email bridal@flynnes.co.uk to schedule.

If any members of your bridal party have specific preferences or skin sensitivities, we recommend booking trials for them. Keep in mind that we work on a set timeline on the wedding day, and additional time for last-minute changes may not be available.

You are not obligated to proceed after the trial. However, please note that the trial fee and deposit are non-refundable.

Payment for your trial is taken on trial day. £80 for a bride and £65 for Bridal party trials.

I am happy to arrange an assistant artist for you for a small fee of £80, as I have trusted contacts with whom I work closely. Alternatively, you can book a package for up to 5 people with myself depending on the time of your ceremony and make separate arrangements for an additional artist if needed.

Full T&Cs
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Flynne’s Artistry, including bridal makeup, event and occasion makeup, trials, makeup lessons and any booking made directly, by enquiry form, or via Booksy. Where a term refers only to bridal bookings, this is stated.

1. DEFINITIONS

  • The Client: The individual booking and/or receiving the service, whether named on an enquiry form, a consultation form, or a Booksy booking.
  • The Artist: Flynne Gardener, the makeup artist providing the services.
  • The Agreement: The contract between the client and the artist for the agreed fee.
  • The Fee: The total amount payable by the client to the artist for the services as outlined in the agreement.
  • The Event: The wedding, occasion or appointment on the agreed date.
  • The Party: Any additional people receiving makeup services under the same booking (e.g. bridal party, family or friends).
  • The Services: Any makeup application, trial, lesson or related service provided by the artist.

2. SECURING THE BOOKING

  • The event booking is confirmed only once the client has paid the non-refundable deposit. If the deposit is not received within 48 hours of the quote being issued, the date may be released without further notice.
  • Your wedding date is not secured until a 20% non-refundable deposit has been paid. Your event date is not secured without the £10 non-refundable deposit. Other bookings should be made via Booksy; when booking via Booksy you are agreeing to the cancellation policy.
  • Arranging a trial does not secure the artist’s services for the event. A trial cannot be scheduled until a deposit has been paid and the date is secured, as there is a risk of losing your date before the trial occurs. We recommend securing your booking with a deposit and scheduling the trial 3–6 months prior to the wedding date. If Flynne does not contact you to arrange this, it is also the client’s responsibility to arrange it.
  • The trial fee is due in full on the trial day. If payment is not received, the artist reserves the right to release the event date.
  • Reductions in the number of services once the booking is confirmed will result in the original total fee being due in full if outside of 12 weeks’ notice for bridal and 48 hours for other bookings.
  • By paying a deposit or fee, booking via Booksy, completing a consultation form, or attending an appointment, the client confirms they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of themselves and any members of their party.

3. PAYMENT

  • Payments can be made by cash, Square, or bank transfer. Cheques are not accepted. For bridal payments, payment must be made via bank transfer.
  • The non-refundable deposit is deducted from the total fee.
  • The full trial fee(s) is due on the trial day.
  • If you are dissatisfied with the trial makeup and choose not to proceed with the booking, you will still be required to pay for the trial, and the deposit remains non-refundable.
  • The 20% non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of receiving your quote. The trial fee is due on the trial day, and the remaining balance is due 14 days before the event (for bridal bookings).
  • Failure to pay the fees within the stated times will result in the release of your event booking.

4. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CLIENT

  • The client must disclose to the artist, before any makeup application, any skin conditions, allergies, sensitivities, recent skin treatments (e.g. chemical peels, laser, microneedling, waxing, sunbeds or fake tan), medication, or medical conditions that may affect the use of makeup products or equipment. This applies to every member of the party, and it is the client’s responsibility to ensure their party members disclose this information too. See Section 9.
  • The client confirms that all information provided on any enquiry, booking or consultation form is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge, and will notify the artist of any changes before the appointment.
  • The artist cannot be held liable for any reaction, irritation or other issue arising from information the client failed to disclose, from a declined patch test, or from the client’s or party’s own skin preparation, aftercare or removal of the makeup.
  • The client is responsible for ensuring they and their party arrive with clean, prepared skin and allow sufficient time for their appointment. The artist is not responsible for results affected by late arrival, unprepared skin or last-minute changes to the look requested.
  • The artist reserves the right to refuse service to the client or any member of the party for reasons including, but not limited to, abusive or threatening behaviour.
  • The artist is not responsible for any loss or damage to the client’s property.
  • For bridal bookings, final numbers of people receiving makeup services must be confirmed in writing by the client at least 12 weeks prior to the wedding. If the number of people increases, the artist reserves the right to adjust the price accordingly and does not have to agree to the increase. If the number decreases, no discount will be applied, and the full price will be charged.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to provide accurate information regarding the number of people requiring services and the event timings. If necessary, the client should communicate with other suppliers. The artist will use this information to create the most accurate timeline possible and will aim to adhere to it. However, the artist cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen circumstances that may affect the schedule on the day.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to make sure the artist has a suitable workspace, such as a table, a plug socket and floor space to walk around a chair.

5. CANCELLATIONS

  • The artist reserves the right to refuse service to additional party members if it is not feasible to complete the entire party in the time available. The same applies to event makeup and other services.

Bridal bookings

  • The client may cancel the event at any time in writing, up to 12 weeks before the event. However, deposits will not be refunded.
  • The artist is not obligated to refund any payments made prior to the cancellation. The client will not be liable for any additional payments after cancellation if it is within the agreed 12-week cancellation period.
  • If the client cancels within 12 weeks of the event, the full fee for the event remains due and payable.
  • Trials can be cancelled at any time, but cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the agreed trial rate, and a new trial and payment will need to be arranged.
  • Reductions to the bridal party size after the booking is secured with less than 12 weeks’ notice will not be accepted and no discounts will be applied.

Event and all other bookings (including Booksy)

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% charge of the full booking amount.
  • For same-day cancellations, 100% of the booking fee will be required before a new booking can be made.
  • If cancellations are made with less than 48 hours’ notice more than three consecutive times, you will not be able to book again.
  • This policy applies to bookings made directly and through Booksy. When booking either way, you agree to these terms.

Cancellation by the artist

  • If the artist is forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond their control, the client will receive a full refund of payments made up until that date and no further compensation will be provided.
  • In cases where the event is affected by circumstances beyond the artist’s control, the artist will make reasonable efforts to rectify the situation, but no further compensation will be offered. It is strongly recommended that the client take out wedding or event insurance to cover such situations.

6. EXCLUSIVITY

  • It is understood that the artist is the sole authorised makeup artist for the event. Any additional professional makeup artists or assistants provided by Flynne’s Artistry are independent contractors. The artist is not liable for any issues caused in relation to them.

7. PHOTOGRAPHY

  • The client agrees that the artist may use any photographs taken during the event or appointment for promotional purposes, including, but not limited to, the artist’s website and social media platforms. By agreeing to these terms, the client grants permission for the photographer to release these images to the artist unless otherwise stated in writing.

8. TRAVEL EXPENSES

  • The client is responsible for covering any necessary travel expenses incurred by the artist, as agreed at the time of booking. This includes, where applicable, congestion charges, parking fees, and other related expenses.
  • If the artist is required to travel further than a 2-hour radius on the morning of the wedding, overnight accommodation for the artist the night before will be required at the client’s expense.

9. ALLERGIES, SKIN SENSITIVITIES AND ADVERSE REACTIONS

Flynne’s Artistry takes reasonable care to maintain good hygiene, use products appropriately and follow relevant product instructions. However, individual skin sensitivities and allergic reactions can occur unexpectedly, including when products have been used correctly and no previous reaction has occurred. The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information about any known allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, medication or recent skin treatments that may affect the service. Failure to disclose relevant information may increase the risk of an adverse reaction. Patch testing will be carried out where required by the product manufacturer, applicable professional guidance or the artist’s insurance conditions. Where a patch test is recommended but optional, clients will be informed of its purpose and limitations. A negative patch test does not guarantee that a reaction will not occur. By proceeding with the service, the client acknowledges that adverse reactions are a possible risk and understands that the occurrence of a reaction does not, in itself, mean that the artist has acted negligently. Nothing in these terms removes the artist’s legal responsibilities or the client’s statutory rights.

10. CLIENT CONSENT & LIABILITY

  • By booking any service with Flynne’s Artistry, the client acknowledges that they have disclosed all relevant skin conditions, allergies and sensitivities, understand the importance of doing so for health and safety, and consent to makeup application for themselves and their party on that basis.
  • While every reasonable effort is made to prevent adverse reactions, no claims or guarantees are made in this regard. The client accepts the application at their own risk, and agrees that the artist’s liability is limited to the fee paid for the service in question.
  • The client is responsible for informing all members of their party of these terms. Any party member who receives a service is deemed to have accepted them.
